(Sunday, December 28 rain date)
Launched in 1900, the Audubon Christmas Bird Count (CBC) has become the nation's longest-running community science bird project. Data from this early- winter bird census have been used in hundreds of analyses, peer-reviewed publications, and government reports over the decades. All levels of birding expertise are welcome to participate in our local annual counts. It's a great opportunity for beginner birders to learn from more experienced birders in the field!
Space tends to be limited for the Gila River CBC due to the need for permits on private land along the river.
Feeder Count: Observing and recording birds at feeders is another option to participate for those who feed birds in the Gila/Cliff area.
If you are interested in participating in either option, please contact Linda Moore at raptors.linda@yahoo.com by Dec.1st.

Get-Together
New this year will be a gathering of Gila River CBC and Winter Raptor Survey participants in late January or early February to review the data, do a little bragging, and just get together to have some fun. Stay tuned for more details!
