CONSERVATION IS KEY: Updates

Bird Friendly Habitat at Home

On February 28th we held our second Bird Friendly Windows workshop at the Silver City Public Library. If you are interested in making your windows safe from bird collisions and were unable to attend the workshop, see the Habitats at Home page, or for individual help contact us by email birdallianceswnm@gmail.com

Update on Red Rock Wildlife Management Area

In coordination with Mesilla Valley Audubon, we are continuing to work with the Department of Wildlife (former DGF) on the Red Rock situation, a great birding spot, especially during spring migration. Planned improved signage, which will likely be in place this fiscal year, will help birders find some of the ‘hidden’ spots there. My colleague at MVAS and I will be meeting with key DW people to discuss ways we as local organizations can help restore and maintain this important bird habitat.
