Sometimes Cooperation is Key
Working with other organizations makes our conservation efforts stronger.
Here are two projects we’re getting involved with that will get more done than we can do alone.
We’re working with Mesilla Valley Audubon and the Department of Game and Fish on improving birding access to and reducing cattle incursion onto the Red Rock Wildlife Management Area. These changes will take time to implement but will require help from our members. If you’re interested in helping restore this great birding site, let me know.
We’re teaming up with New Mexico Wild and other conservation organizations to fight the present USDA efforts to remove protections to these areas. As our region is home to the country’s first roadless area (Aldo Leopold Wilderness) and several more, it’s important that we protect this resource. And we can’t do it alone.
