Bird-Safe Windows Workshop

  • Silver City Public Library 515 West College Avenue Silver City, NM, 88061 United States (map)

Did you know that window collisions account for over 1 billion bird deaths annually in the U.S.? And that residential home windows account for nearly half of this total?

Fortunately, you can take steps at home to avoid contributing to those statistics! Birds can’t distinguish reflection from open flyways. They need strong clues on or around glass to warn them that it’s there. In this workshop, we'll explain ways to prevent bird collisions with your windows. And, we'll provide materials and hands-on practice with some of the most effective ways you can use to protect birds near your windows.

Please RSVP to birdallianceswnm@gmail.com if you’d like to participate (vs observe) during the hands-on portion of the workshop.
