The Gila River Christmas Bird Count is scheduled for January 2, 2027 with a possible bad weather date of January 3rd.

Space is limited due to private land holdings along the Gila River and the need for permits, but it is a great opportunity to bird with experienced leaders. The opportunity to participate is also open to residents within the count circle in the Cliff/Gila area who would like to count birds at their feeders.

Gila River CBC participants will be invited to a gathering late in January or early February for a summary of data and comparison to earlier years. It will be a chance to get together, discuss what was seen, do a little bragging and eat a little food! More details will be given to participants closer to the date.
